In his Apostolic Exhortation Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis referred to the Church as a field hospital, recognizing and caring for those who are wounded. One of the greatest wounds a person can suffer is the pain of divorce or separation. It affects not only the persons involved, but also children, other family members, friends and co-workers.

Fresh Start: A Healing Ministry for the Divorced and Separated is a journey to help those who are divorced, separated or remarried outside the Church.  Share your experiences and dialogue with others in a confidential group setting. Included is an excellent video series featuring people who have gone through separation and divorce, along with counselors who provide assistance.

I am not a St. Paul parishioner. Can I still come?

Yes! The program is open to all who are divorced or separated, not just St. Paul parishioners. We encourage you to reach out to others who may be interested.

Where and when does the group meet?

We meet in the St. Paul Canfield Center (in the St. Paul School Building) from 7:00 – 8:30 pm on the first and third Thursday each month through March. Dates and topics are listed at right.

Does it cost anything to sign up?

The only fee is $10.00 for a book to guide us through the videos.

How do I register?

Register online or for questions, please email Deacon Bill Jamieson or call 313.885.8855, ext. 145.
