Dear Parishioners,
St. Paul on the Lake Parish is blessed to have a 190-year history of sharing the love of Christ in our community. One of the most profound ways we, as a local Church, help spread Christ’s love is by responding to the material and spiritual needs of individuals and families here in Grosse Pointe and throughout southeast Michigan. For many years, the Catholic Services Appeal has supported vital ministries that provide tangible evidence of the power of faith. For example, the CSA assists men who are discerning their vocations at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Fr. Andrew Smith, Fr. Jeremy Schupbach, and Deacon Zach Glick have all benefited from CSA support.
I am grateful for the many ways in which you have contributed to this work in the past. Please prayerfully consider renewing your support for CSA this year. St. Paul on the Lake Parish’s target is $282,000. If we all contribute, we can easily exceed that goal. After we meet our target, 100% of the excess will be returned to our parish. If we do not meet our target, the shortfall will be taken from the parish’s general funds.
Kindly return your pledge card in the enclosed envelope by May 31, 2024. You can also make your gift online at GiveCSA.org (please select CSA 2024). With reliance on the Holy Spirit and your generous contribution, we can share God’s love throughout the archdiocese. Thank you for your continued support. As we move forward in confidence, please always know of my prayers for you.
In gratitude,
Fr. Jim Bilot

Gifts of Stock: Gifts of appreciated corporate stock or mutual funds are a tax-advantaged way to give to the CSA. Donors planning to give stock, securities or mutual funds to the CSA should contact Donor Services at (313) 596-7400 or [email protected] to arrange the gift.
Gifts through Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA): An IRA “Qualified Charitable Distribution” (QCD) may provide an excellent way for donors aged 70½ to give to the CSA and have the distribution excluded from their taxable income. To take advantage of an IRA QCD to the CSA, your donors should contact their IRA administrator before requesting the distribution in order to arrange for the proper transfer of funds directly from their IRA.
