Archbishop Weisenburger was asked to select a Gospel reading for his installation Mass in the Archdiocese of Detroit and chose this powerful exchange between our Lord and St. Peter in the Gospel of St. John, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”
[Jesus] said to him, “Feed my sheep…” And when he had said this, he said to him, “Follow me” (John 21:15-17,19).
This calling is echoed in the Catholic Services Appeal, inviting each of us to respond to Christ’s love by caring for those in need and supporting the ministries that bring the Gospel to life. We should be united in following Christ’s command to love, serve, and share the abundant gifts we have received with our brothers and sisters across southeast Michigan.

Gifts of Stock: Gifts of appreciated corporate stock or mutual funds are a tax-advantaged way to give to the CSA. Donors planning to give stock, securities or mutual funds to the CSA should contact Donor Services at (313) 596-7400 or [email protected] to arrange the gift.
Gifts through Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA): An IRA “Qualified Charitable Distribution” (QCD) may provide an excellent way for donors aged 70½ to give to the CSA and have the distribution excluded from their taxable income. To take advantage of an IRA QCD to the CSA, your donors should contact their IRA administrator before requesting the distribution in order to arrange for the proper transfer of funds directly from their IRA.
